Second time in months, with 3 million plus followers, facebook page of Indian Army leads as most talked about FB page across the world. According to the “People Talking About That” (PTAT) ranking for FB pages, Indian Army becomes the most popular on the social networking website.

The following foreign government organizations include the FBI, NASA, CIA and also the Pakistan Military (in no particular order).

Appreciating the same, Army sources said:

“It is big for the army’s social media. Only two months ago, we had topped for the first time. It also proves that we have genuine likes registered for our page”

The army joined the social site on May 15, 2013 and at present is garnered with 3 million likes. The official website of the Indian Army too gets loads of attention and handled as many as 25 lakh hits per week. Social media is now one of the most important element of the army’s outreach programme, said the sources.

There are 447 thousand followers of the twitter handle of the Indian Army.

This news coming out just few days before the nation is about to celebrate the Independence Day, makes me feel more patriotic for my Country.
