Indians Hit Back At Waqar Younis For Tweeting, “Shaheen Afridi’s Injury Big Relief For India”

Cricket fans of both the nations – India and Pakistan are quite excited about the clash between both the teams which is going to take place on August 28, 2022 in UAE in the Asia Cup. In fact if reports are to be believed, tickets of the match are getting sold at high prices and at a very good speed.

The two neighbouring countries of Asia are not having good relations for a long time and though both the teams face each other in international contests, they have not played any bilateral series for long. India and Pakistan are arch-rivals on the cricket field and thrill is all time high in their matches because of which everyone is waiting for August 28 eagerly.

While India has already announced its squad, the Pakistani camp is facing a little problem as its star pacer Shaheen Afridi has been ruled out of the tournament because of injury. While the Pakistani team management is busy discussing as to who will replace Shaheen Afridi in the Asia Cup2022, the former pacer and head coach of the Pakistani cricket team Waqar Younis used this as an opportunity to take a jibe at the Indian team especially the Indian top-order.

Waqar Younis took to the micro-blogging site Twitter and wrote, “Shaheen’s injury Big relief for the Indian top order batsmen. Sad we won’t be seeing him in #AsiaCup2022 Get fit soon Champ @iShaheenAfridi”

Last time India and Pakistan faced each other in the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 and in that match, Shaheen Afridi played an important role in his team’s 10 wicket win as he ripped apart the top Indian batting order by dismissing the top three – Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul and Virat Kohli.

This tweet didn’t go well with the Indian cricket fans as some of them pointed out that India must have chalked out a plan for him by now. There were some who reminded Waqar Younis of the smashing that Shaheen Afridi got by Mathew Wade in the semi-finals and there were few who asked Waqar to get the Asia Cup postponed till Shaheen Afridi is fit to play.
