India’s Sloppy Fielding Against Nepal Leaves Skipper Rohit Sharma Fuming, See The Video

Rohit Sharma-led Indian team defeated the cricket team of Nepal by 10 wickets in their second match of the Asia Cup which was played yesterday at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, Kandy. However, this match exposed some important concerns of the Indian team which need to be addressed as soon as possible. The Indian fielding can easily be called pathetic as Virat Kohli, Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer dropped easy catches plus there were a good number of overthrows and instances of misfielding which should not have taken place.

The Indian skipper Rohit Sharma who won the Player of the Match award for his superb knock of 74 runs not out (59 balls, 6 fours & 5 sixes) was also angry with the fielding of his teammates and when the match was stopped in the 39th over due to rain and the players were walking out of the ground, Hitman was seen in a furious mood. Earlier in the 38th over, Rohit Sharma gave a death stare to Shardul Thakur who missed to collect the ball which he should have done easily and the ball cleared the ropes.

As far as the match is concerned, India chose to bowl first after winning the toss and Nepal managed to put up a total of 230 runs in 48.2 overs. But the target for the Indian team was revised to 145 in 23 overs because of rain which India achieved in 20.1 overs without losing any wicket. Shubman Gill also played a good knock of 67 runs not out for which he faced 62 balls and his innings included 8 fours & 1 six.

Rohit Sharma accepted that his team didn’t play their best game as few players haven’t played for months but there will be no room for complacency in the Super Four stage. He added that in the first match which was against Pakistan, Hardik and Ishan played well and took the team out of trouble and in the match against Nepal, their bowling was good but fielding was not good.

The Indian team needs to pull up their socks soon, what do you say?
