This IPS Officer Lashed Out At A Hindi Daily & You’ll Respect Her After Knowing The Reason

A Hindi news daily invited the ire of a Lady IPS officer after it published an article about “10 Most Beautiful Female IAS And IPS Officers In India”. These types of articles are absolutely not needed when there is so much to write and talk about, but Indian media has made a reputation of being senseless at times.

Merin Joseph, the IPS officer who got the first spot on the list, didn’t take this honor in a right manner. She criticized media and took to social networking site Facebook to express her opinion with regard to the matter.

This is what she wrote on Facebook:

She got a good amount of support on the social media network but there were some who didn’t miss the chance to highlight media’s mistake and show their mental deficiency, like this person who wrote, “Media went wrong in both ways. The other way is that, most of them aren’t beautiful.” So people are having problem if the officers are beautiful and even if they are not beautiful; these kinds of people will never understand what the real matter is.

In July 2014, Firstpost published an article talking about the pic of Merin Joseph (IPS trainee from Kerala) going viral on the Internet as people found it difficult to believe that such a beautiful lady could be a police officer. One of the readers posted, “Kitni sundar hain yeh…vishwas hi nhi ho rha hai ki policewali hai…hahaha…” (She is so beautiful, can’t believe she is a police officer…hahaha…)

And some other person posted, “madam, please keep uploading more pics.. u truly r an inspiration for all of us.. The no. of ‘likes’ for ur pics r very closely followed by all o us..great morale booster mam.. It seems the sensex took a dip last time when ur pic garnered a meagre 2500 likes..!”

There were many comments like this and undoubtedly, such things showcase mental attitude and thinking of our society which considers beautiful girls as mere objects and finds it difficult to see them as achievers.
