The Indian cricketer Virat Kohli is certainly one of the greatest cricketers of all times but there are some people who feel that now the selectors should not include King Kohli in the Indian squad for the T20 World Cup which is going to take place after two months in West Indies and USA.

The reason that these critics give is that Virat Kohli’s strike rate is not good and T20I cricket is all about power-hitting and India has some really good power-hitters such as Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rinku Singh, etc. but they won’t get the chance if Virat Kohli is included in the team.

There is no denying the fact that Virat Kohli has played many match-winning innings for the Indian team and for his IPL team Royal Challengers Bangalore as well but the fact that RCB hasn’t won its first IPL title despite Virat Kohli being associated with the team since inaugural edition of 2008 makes the case of critics a little stronger.

Amidst the talks of Virat Kohli being dropped from the T20 squad, the former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan has come out in support of Virat Kohli and he said that Virat Kohli’s strike rate at international level is good or even better than the strike rate of Universe Boss Chris Gayle. He further said that if we talk about the strike rate of the Indian power-hitters, Hardik Pandya’s strike rate is 139 and Virat Kohli’s strike rate is 137 and this doesn’t make much difference. Irfan Pathan further added that people may be making hype regarding strike rate but Rohit Sharma’s strike rate is also 139 and we should not forget the 82-run innings played by Virat Kohli at MCG against Pakistan.

Irfan Pathan further said that Virat Kohli is a big-ticket winner and an absolute match winner who know how to chase. Pathan further said that the more will be the pressure, the better Virat Kohli will perform and he concluded by warning the critics to not even dare to question.

RCB may have lost 3 out of 4 matches played by them but Virat Kohli is performing pretty well in the IPL 2024 as currently he is the highest scorer of the tournament. In the four matches, Virat Kohli has scored 203 runs with 2 fifty plus innings and as of now, he is the orange cap holder.
