Irfan Pathan Pulls Ravindra Jadeja’s Leg For Blinking His Eyes A Lot, Jadeja Reacts

The Indian cricket team has scripted history by whitewashing the fourth consecutive limited over series at home as yesterday it defeated the Sri Lankans in the third and the final T20I of the 3-match T20I series and won the series by 3-0.

Ravindra Jadeja, the Indian all-rounder is an integral part of team India and he played an important part in India’s win especially in the second T20I after which he also engaged in a hilarious banter with the former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan. The second T20I was played on February 26 at HPCA Stadium, Dharamshala; the toss was won by the hosts and they decided to bowl first.

Batting first, the Sri Lankan cricket team put up a total of 183 runs for 5 wickets on the score board in the stipulated 20 overs with the help of beautiful innings of Pathum NIssanka (75), Danushka Gunathilaka (38) and Dasun Shanaka (47). Chasing a big target of 184 runs, India had a pretty bad start as the team lost both its openers Rohit Sharma(1) and Ishan Kishan (16); however, Shreyas Iyer (74) and Sanju Samson (39) not only stabilized the innings but also paved the path for India’s triumph. Well, the highlight of the Indian innings was the batting of Ravindra Jadeja who scored 45 runs in just 18 balls and his innings included 7 fours and 1 six.

While talking to the mediapersons in the virtual press conference, Ravindra Jadeja thanked his skipper Rohit Sharma for showing faith in him but there was one thing peculiar about him, Jadeja was blinking his eyes a lot.

The former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan noticed this act of Jadeja and he decided to have some fun at the latter’s expense. Irfan Pathan took to the micro-blogging site Twitter and wrote, “Baapu needs eye drops”.

Ravindra Jadeja soon responded by telling that he was wearing lens for the first time and Irfan praised Jadeja by saying that the manner in which he was batting, it felt as if he had worn binoculars.

Jadeja also thanked Irfan for appreciating his batting.

In the third and the final T20I of the series, the visitors won the toss and decided to bat first. They put up a total of 146/5 on the score board which was chased by the hosts in 16.5 overs. Shreyas Iyer once again played a beautiful innings of 73 not out (45 balls, 9 fours & 1 six) and he was not only declared as the player of the match but also the player of the series.

Irfan Pathan certainly has a good sense of humour. What do you say?
