Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt starrer “Gully Boy” got a good start on its opening day and the trade analysts are quite sure about this movie becoming a blockbuster.
In fact, the trailer of the flick was also appreciated by audiences and the track “Apna Time Aayega” was so loved by fans that it was on everybody’s lips. While the actors are busy in promotions, director Zoya Akhtar has given an interview to an entertainment portal and talked about many things including her latest movie.
In “Gully Boy”, Ranveer plays the character of a rapper who belongs to a poor family and he struggles hard to fulfill his dream. After the trailer was released, comparisons were made and some even went on to say that this movie can be an unofficial remake of Eminem starring “8 Mile”.
When Zoya was asked to comment on her flick being compared with “8 Mile”, she said that it happens in India because people love to do that.
According to her, when the trailer of her film “Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara” got released, people started calling it a remake of “The Hangover”. She tried to clarify that there is no similarity between the movies but it was useless. However, when ZNMD was released and people watched it themselves, they stopped making comparisons.
She further went on to say that when people will watch “Gully Boy”, they will stop making comparisons with “8 Mile”.
