Yesterday, Jeff Bezos, the CEO of Amazon, became the World’s richest person with a net worth of $90.9 billion. He even surpassed Bill Gates, who has always been on the top of the list with a net worth of $90.7 billion.
This was totally unexpected but it became possible as Amazon’s share value rose by 1.6 percent. Yes, it was this jump that let him overtake Bill Gates.
We all know that happiness is short-lived and now, even in case of Bezos, the same thing happened. He could enjoy the pleasure of being World’s richest man only for few hours. As soon as Amazon gave up their gains, Bezos was back to the 2nd position.
The day ended with Bezos having a net worth of $89.8 billion and Gates having a net worth of $90.8 billion.
Forbes also stated that if Jeff Bezos didn’t give away billions of dollars for various causes, he would have always led the list.
Looks as if Gates will continue to be on the top. He had been leading the magazine right from the year 2013 and don’t know how far this will continue.
It must have definitely been a happy moment for Jeff as he could attain the 1st position at least for few hours.
