John Abraham’s “Satyameva Jayate” has stuck in controversy and a complaint has been filed against the film for allegedly hurting the sentiments of a particular community.
The trailer of the flick was released on 28th June and shortly it caught the attention of a BJP leader who found it offensive and lodged an FIR against Manoj Bajpayee starrer “Satyameva Jayate”.
As per the complaint, Syed Ali Jaffry, BJP Minority Morcha’s city general secretary, is of the opinion that “religious sentiments” of Muslim community are hurt by the movie’s trailer.
A lawyer has told Mirror Now that the scene of Muharram procession is presented wrongly in the trailer and moreover, it was not at all required in the movie as it is based on corruption and how John Abraham’s character avenges all the wrongdoings happened with him.
Here’s what the lawyer said,
“The procession of Muharram has been depicted in a wrong way in the trailer. Our concerns are that the movie’s plot is based on corruption and the lead role is being played by John Abraham, who is avenging the wrongdoings on him. The makers could have very well completed the film without having a scene with the Muharram procession. The movie’s plot has nothing to do with Muharram. All these things are outraging religious feelings of a particular sect.”
The FIR has been lodged with Hyderabad cops and the complainant has alleged that not only he but the whole Shia community is hurt by the trailer, according to the channel. He has demanded removal of the particular scene from “Satyameva Jayate”. Cops will soon watch the trailer to make out what offensive or objectionable is shown in the movie.

On the Independence Day, i.e., 15th August, the film will hit theatres but it will have to face clash with “Gold” starring Akshay Kumar and “Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se” featuring Dharmendra, Sunny and Bobby Deol.
