Santosh Srivastava aged 35 worked on the post of editor in Hindi which is a local newspaper. Reports say that he was killed ruthlessly by his lover’s family. This incident took place in Singrauli district of MP on 11th April. Each suspect has been detained.

Santosh fell in love with a girl who worked for the same newspaper. The girl’s family was aware of their relationship but not fail to mention that all members of her family were against this relation. Srivastava was invited by the girl’s father Lallu Prasad Pal to dinner on Saturday. An argument took place after the dinner over their relationship. The disagreement took a wrong turn when Santosh started beating Pal. Perturbed Pal’s son and wife attacked him with ‘Lathis’ and iron rod. Pal joined the other two family members and started beating him until he died.

In the words of Sanjeev Sinha, Singrauli additional SP, “The trio used a hammer, an iron rod and a cable wire to assault Shrivastava”. He further added, “The accused later burnt his camera and mobile phone and dumped Shrivastava’s body along with his bike at a spot 2km from the village. The accused and the girl have admitted to the crime.”
