K-Drama Fever: Upcoming K-Dramas in 2024 To Watch

2024 is going to be a good year for K-Drama lovers. All of us are Dead, and Squid Game is returning with a new season. These two series took the internet by storm when they were released. Also, Sweet Home’s third season will be coming this year. Many new K-dramas also join the list, with action-packed series like A Killer’s Paradox and psychological thrillers like The Bequeathed. K-Dramas feel incomplete without a romantic drama, and this time, we are getting the enemies-to-lovers trope with Doctor Slump.

Excited? We have a whole list for you.

Here Are The Upcoming K-Dramas in 2024 To Watch-

  1. A Shop for Killers (17th January)

Based on the novel The Killer’s Shopping Mall written by Kim Ji-young, A Shop For Killers is a mystery action drama series starring Lee Dong-wook and Kim Hye-jun. Hye-jun plays the role of Jeong Ji-an, a girl whose father killed her mother and then himself, leaving her to be brought up by her uncle. Lee Dong-wook stars as Ji-an’s uncle, who runs a shop that hides many secrets. When her uncle dies suddenly, Ji-an is followed by skilled assassins, and she is forced to discover her family’s past to know what is happening. The drama will be available on Disney+ Hotstar starting 17th January.

  1. The Bequeathed (January 19)

Deadline

A promising psychological thriller, The Bequeathed stars Kim Hyun-joo, Park Hee-son, Park Byung-eun, and Ryu Kyung-soo. One day, Yoon Seo-ha received the bequeathed burial ground of an uncle she had never met and who had already died. Seo-ha discovers the secrets connected to the land and the many murders it holds. The Bequeathed will be available on Netflix from the 19th of January.

  1. Doctor Slump (January 27)

Soompi

Enemies-to-friends is one of the most loved romantic tropes of K-Dramas. Doctor Slump brings you the trope in an imaginative and refreshingly crafted story. Featuring Park Shin-Hye and Park Hyung, their characters despise each other in school. However, as fate wanted it to be, the two meet again several years later as they become doctors. They are forced to rethink their emotions and slowly realise their developing feelings for each other. And we know from experience that Park Hyung can be a charming lover. Doctor Slump will be available on Netflix from 27th January.

  1. A Killer Paradox (9th February)

Based on a webtoon of the same name, A Killer Paradox is an action drama that is sure to make you laugh. One day, Lee Tang finds he has superpowers when he accidentally kills a serial killer. His superpowers are turned on whenever someone or something is evil near him. Choi Woo-shik (the Our Beloved Summer guy) stars as Lee Tang, who takes up the role of a vigilante in his city because of his newly discovered superpowers. However, the local detectives are not too happy about this and begin chasing him.

  1. Squid Game Season 2 (TBA)

Deadline

One of the most successful K-Dramas of all time, Squid Game gained a massive following and acclaim worldwide. The second season is being made, and its release dates are yet to be announced. Although Gi-hun would continue his role, the season will be very different from the first part because the audience already knows the framework of the games. It’s difficult for the writers, but we hope the second season will be just as surprising (and gore) as the first.

  1. All Of Us Are Dead Season 2 (TBA)

NetFlix

Another series that gained international fame and earned a much-needed following in the zombie genre, All of Us Are Dead, will return this year. The destruction of the school, along with Cheong-san’s apparent death, would have been an emotional but solid conclusion to the series; season 2 shows the actor Yoon Chan-young’s name in the cast. Wondering what will happen next? We are as well!

  1. Sweet Home Season 3 (TBA)

August Man

Sweet Home is returning, featuring Song Kang, Go Min-si, and Lee Do-hyun. Fans of Sweet Home had to wait a lot for the second season as it was released after three years. However, we don’t have to wait for season 3, as it is set to be released sometime this year. Following the massive success of the first season, Netflix decided to sign up for two more seasons of the show. Season 3 will continue the story from the preceding one, unravelling many cliffhangers, like Eun-hyuk’s return as a monster. Are you excited for the new season? We sure are!

Conclusion-

From zombies to mind-blowing games, these upcoming K-dramas have a lot in your package. Choo Woo-shik as a vigilante is a role that I am excited to watch. Which actor’s performance are you looking ahead to? Let us know down below!
