In an interview, Kajol dismissed the idea of any past or present friction between Shah Rukh Khan and Ajay Devgn. She explained that the alleged rivalry had no real basis, insisting that it was nothing more than media speculation. According to her, the two actors were never extremely close friends but have always had mutual respect for each other. She emphasised that there was never any jealousy or awkwardness and firmly stated, “Genuinely, nothing really happened”.
Kajol also offered her perspective on the so-called “camps” within Bollywood, a term often used to describe informal groups or alliances among stars and filmmakers. Reflecting on her own career, she said that she never subscribed to such divisions. She viewed the notion of camps as more of a comfort-driven dynamic where people simply gravitated toward those they had already worked with. She noted that she had always chosen to work with a variety of people and was never confined to one circle.
The conversation also touched on her marriage to Ajay Devgn and how the two manage their relationship in a high-profile industry. Kajol spoke candidly about the mutual respect they share for each other’s personal preferences and individuality. She explained that both she and Ajay understand and accept that they don’t need to share every social interaction or interest to maintain a healthy relationship. “We are individuals. I like some things, he doesn’t, and that’s okay,” she said, adding that both of them are secure enough to let the other live freely, as long as trust and communication remain intact.
On the professional front, Kajol is preparing for her next release Sarzameen, a thriller that will debut on an OTT on July 25. The film features Prithviraj Sukumaran and Saif Ali Khan alongside Ibrahim Ali Khan. With a powerful cast and gripping premise, the project marks another exciting chapter in Kajol’s diverse and evolving career.
