There is no denying the fact that the whole world is going through a tough phase because of the coronavirus pandemic and it is the time when we need to show courage, resilience and sensibility in order to save ourselves from getting infected with the lethal virus.
If we talk about the situation of COVID-19 in India, the second wave has subsided in majority of the states and the state governments have also unlocked the state with some restrictions. However, it has been observed that people are going on trips to tourist places in huge numbers and they are not following the COVID-19 protocols such as wearing masks, maintaining social distancing, etc.
This behaviour of the citizens is a matter of serious concern for everyone and not just the government because it will increase chances of the third wave and we should have no doubt that the third wave is going to be stronger and more harmful than the first and the second waves.
The former Indian cricketer Kapil Dev who has a huge fan following has now joined the campaign of Nissan India for educating people by comparing the present situation with the game of cricket and his career. In the video, Kapil Dev is seen with a cricket ball which has been modified into the shape of the COVID-19 virus.
He says that in his career, he has played many do-or-die matches; while in some he tasted victory, in few others he got defeated but the match against corona is the toughest match that India has ever faced. Kapil Dev under whose leadership the Indian cricket team won the first cricket World Cup in the year 1983 referred to test matches while speaking in the video as he said that when we thought that we defeated COVID-19 in the first innings, the virus made a strong comeback in the second innings. He further stated that no matter how hard it may be to defeat the opponent but we need to be well-prepared for this match and defeat coronavirus.
Nissan India shared the video with the caption, “The pandemic is the toughest match India has ever faced. To help us prepare better and be match-ready for this challenge, Nissan India has brought in our legendary Indian captain, @therealkapildev. Here’s what our champion has to say about getting ready. #IndiaVsCorona”

In simple words, the manner in which helmets save the batsmen from injuries, masks save us from corona in the same manner so we should ensure that we wear masks and maintain social distancing whenever we are out of the house.
Follow the COVID-19 protocols and stay safe.
