Kapil Dev Was Asked To Choose Better Batter Between Virat & Sachin, He Gave An Epic Reply - RVCJ Media

While Virat Kohli didn’t score a single century in three years, recently he scored three centuries in six matches and now once again cricket lovers have started making comparisons between Virat and legendary Sachin Tendulkar. While many feel that comparison between both the cricketers and the debate on the better batter between the two is of no use because they both belong to different eras and a lot has changed in cricket over the years, there are few who are always coming up with this debate.

Recently, the former Indian cricketer Kapil Dev was asked this question in an interview but the answer that Kapil Dev gave was quite different to what he was asked. When Kapil Dev is asked to tell who the better batter is between Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli, Kapil Dev says that you don’t have to choose one or two especially because there are eleven players in a team and he may make his choice based on his likes and dislikes but every generation gets better than the previous one.

The 1983 World Cup winning skipper further said that in his time, there was Sunil Gavaskar who was one of the finest of all times, then in 80s and 90s, there were Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Virender Sehwag, etc. and in the present times, we have Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma and in the coming times, we will have better batters. Kapil Dev adds that each generation will give better batters who will play better cricket.

Sachin Tendulkar holds the record for the most number of international centuries as he has 100 centuries (49 in ODIs & 51 test centuries) to his name and till now, Virat Kohli has scored 74 centuries (46 in ODIs, 27 in test matches and 1 in T20Is) and he has the highest chances of breaking Sachin Tendulkar’s record.
