Karan Johar is one of the most successful Bollywood celebrities and always makes headlines for his movies. However, for the past few months, he was in news for his autobiography entitled “An Unsuitable Boy” which was in limelight for all the controversial reasons. It’s once again in news and you won’t believe why!

Karan Johar is accused of lying about his family background in the autobiography. It’s not a hidden fact that shocking revelations with regard to his family background were made by KJo and some part of the description didn’t go well with the filmmaker’s relatives.

In fact, Rajiv Nayar, husband of Karan’s cousin and an advocate in the Supreme Court, is making up mind to sue KJo as well as the publisher of his autobiography to spin a story of “rags to riches”.

Indian Express reported that in “An Unsuitable Boy”, KJo wrote that all the relatives from the side of his dad were sweet-makers (halwais). He further added that it was just his father who was little educated and knew how to speak in English because of which he used to keep an eye on the income by sitting at the counter.

It was further reported that KJo’s grandfather was in a government job prior to setting up a sweet shop in the capital city of India, i.e., Delhi. Not only this, Ved Prakash Johar, the eldest uncle of Karan, completed graduation from Lahore’s Government College. Subsequently, he did a course of journalism from New York’s Columbia University and joined IAS. The daily’s report went on to claim that another uncle of KJo was in Indian Army while an aunt used to work as a teacher.

All the above description is utterly in contradiction with what Karan Johar stated in his autobiography. Nevertheless, just one uncle of KJo was a sweet-maker who had a restaurant with the name of Nanking along with a sweet shop in Connaught Place, Delhi. Hence, KJo’s depiction was not completely fictitious but this definitely raises a question on the other details written by Karan in “An Unsuitable Boy”.
