Directed by Anurag Singh, Kesari, featuring Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra in prominent roles is clearly a winner among masses and critics alike. After giving back to back hits with Reema Kagti’s Gold and R Balki’s Padman,last year, the khiladi of Bollywood is yet again had a bumper opening with his Holi release.
Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra starrer war drama Kesari reeled in approximately 21.06 crores on Day 1, which is huge considering the fact that the film released in the middle of the week on Holi. Akshay’s last film which earned whopping amounts on the very first day of its release, but Kesari now is the biggest opener in 2019 so far.
It has managed to beat Gully Boy in the box office race also. Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt starrer had earned approximately 19 crores on Day 1.According to trade analysts, the film was suppose to make a whooping 23 crores on its second day.
But, unfortunately the film Kesari earned 16.70 crore in its Day 2. The film slowed down a bit, though according to media experts and trade analysts, this film will definitely pick up good momentum, as soon as the weekend will hit.
The film’s glowing depiction of the Battle of Saragarhi and the sheer portrayal of courage and valour by Akshay Kumar’s Havildar Isher Singh, will leave a lasting impression on you.We got to witness a historical event, long forgotten among the History pages, where 21 Sikhs wage a fierce battle against 10,000 afghan invaders.
We can definitely say that Akshay Kumar’s war drama Kesari is a must watch and doesn’t expect to slow down anytime soon.
