Just days after helping India lift the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 trophy, Jasprit Bumrah had another reason to celebrate, a special milestone in his personal life.
The Indian fast-bowling star marked five years of marriage with sports presenter Sanjana Ganesan on Sunday. The couple, who got married on March 15, 2021, in a private ceremony, celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary by sharing heartfelt moments on social media.
Jasprit Bumrah posted a couple of pictures with Sanjana on Instagram to mark the occasion. Keeping things short and simple, he wrote a brief anniversary message “Happy anniversary”, wishing his wife on the special day. The post quickly caught fans’ attention, with many sending congratulatory messages. Even his IPL franchise Mumbai Indians joined the celebrations with warm wishes.

However, the highlight of the post turned out to be Sanjana Ganesan’s playful response. She jokingly teased Bumrah about his very short caption, calling it a “kidney-touching caption”, which amused fans in the comments section.
Sanjana also shared a few pictures with Jasprit Bumrah on her own Instagram account while celebrating the milestone. In her message, she spoke about their journey together, describing their relationship as a comforting partnership that feels like home no matter how busy life becomes. She expressed happiness about completing five years of marriage with someone she considers her best friend and someone with whom she hopes to continue writing many more chapters of life.
She wrote, “No matter where life takes us, no matter how loud the world gets, there’s always this — you, me and a hug that feels like home. Five years married to my best friend. My favourite story, always and forever”.

While Jasprit Bumrah enjoyed the personal celebration, he has also been making headlines for his outstanding performance on the cricket field. The 30 years old pacer played a crucial role in India’s triumph in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. Representing the team led by Suryakumar Yadav, Bumrah appeared in eight matches and took 14 wickets, finishing as the joint-highest wicket-taker of the tournament.
His most memorable performance came in the final against New Zealand at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on March 8. Bumrah delivered a sensational spell, taking four wickets for just 15 runs in four overs. India went on to win the match by massive 96 runs and Bumrah was named the Player of the Match for his match-winning performance.
After the international success, Bumrah will now turn his attention to the IPL 2026, where he will represent Mumbai Indians. The tournament will begin on March 28 with Royal Challengers Bengaluru facing Sunrisers Hyderabad at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Jasprit Bumrah is also approaching a major IPL milestone. With 183 wickets from 145 matches for Mumbai Indians, he now has the opportunity to become the first player to take 200 wickets for the franchise during the upcoming season.
Jasprit Bumrah is certainly a man of few words, isn’t he?
