Who doesn’t remember Mr.Bean! He was one character which used to bring a smile to the face everyone the moment he used to appear on TV with his famous series ‘Mr. Bean’. Yes, kids and adults alike used to enjoy his show! However, it has been years now since Mr.Bean last aired on TV, Everybody seems to be badly missing his show and his awesome comic timings, isn’t it? Secret agent!
After the end of Mr. Bean series in 1995, Rowan was seen on screen after 8 years i.e. in 2003 which surely made audience very happy. Well, Rowan Atkinson was seen in ‘Johnny English’ a British movie, as a hapless secret agent. This role of his definitely impressed the audience a lot. It was so well received by the audience that its sequels ‘Johnny English Returns’ and ‘Johnny English 3’ followed.
Rowan’s death hoax!
Well, in between there were false rumors that Rowan committed suicide at the age of 58 since his producer removed him from ‘Johnny English 3’. Even Wikipedia was fooled by this. It updated the death date of Rowan as 26th of February 2012. But later on, when the rumors were cleared out, Wikipedia corrected its mistake.
Recent updates!
It was in March 2015, that Rowan Atkinson was spotted with Louise Ford, his girlfriend in North London. They were out on a Lunch date it seems. The duo had starred alongside each other in 2012 in ‘West End Play’ and they both looked pretty relaxed and happy. Basically, Rowan and his wife Sunetra Sastry (Married for 23 years) have split now. Rowan has 2 children from Sunetra, son Benjamin and daughter Lily.
His latest role!
This year, Rowan made a debut as a heavyweight actor and essayed the role of ‘Jules Maigret’, the French Detective. Yes, he was cast in ‘Maigret Sets A Trap’, a 2-hour ITV special based of Georges Simenon’s novels. However, Rowan Atkinson couldn’t do justice do his role and failed to impress the critics. May be he is good with comedy roles and not with serious ones.Yes, his character was much more serious, lips were clamped and he carried an iconic pipe. Instead of humor, lot of concern and seriousness was seen in his eyes.
