Ex Indian cricketer Jacob Martin met with an accident on December 28, which resulted in fatal injuries. He was admitted to a hospital in Vadodara.
He has currently been put on a ventilator and is fighting for his life. His wife, unable to provide for the expensive treatment, reached out to the BCCI for help.
She reported that she did not wish to contact the BCCI but her hands were tied. The BCCI has granted an aid of 5 lakhs for the cricketer’s treatment.
The Baroda Cricket Association also came forward to help Martin. Sanjay Patel is the secretary of the association and he was the first person to offer help. They granted an amount of 3 lakhs, to ensure proper treatment and care.
Many other cricketers are also coming forward to help. For example, Sourav Ganguly has also offered help and has transferred a certain amount of money to Martin’s account.
Now, Krunal Pandya, the older brother of Hardik Pandya has also come forth with monetary help. He has provided Patel with a blank cheque.
He has also mentioned that Patel is free to insert whatever amount necessary in order to ensure that Martin receives the care and treatment he deserves, but the amount should not be less than 1 lakh.
His brother, Hardik, has recently received a lot of flak for s*xist and derogatory comments on Koffee With Karan. But at least hia brother is not without heart.
