“Laptop, Laptop” – Kerala Passengers Risked Many Lives For Saving Gadgets On Emirates Plane

On Wednesday, an Emirates flight from Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala carrying nearly 300 passengers crash landed in Dubai and just after everybody was evacuated from the plane, the plane caught flames and a firefighter lost his life in this unfortunate incident. Out of these 300 passengers, 226 were Indians and most of them belonged to Kerala.

A video which has been going viral on social media has revealed that some passengers were more worried about their luggage rather than their own as well as other people’s lives. Some passengers tried to pull out their bags from the overhead bins before coming out of the plane. What’s more, “Laptop”, “laptop” was being shouted by a passenger as he was trying to get his laptop before evacuating from the plane.

While some passengers were busy in pulling out their luggage, the women flight attendants were shouting “Jump the slide, jump the slide”, requesting the passengers to forget their luggage and save their lives.

One of the busiest airports was closed for a long time after this incident. Investigation was started and the pilots, controllers, witnesses and passengers were interviewed in order to find out the reason behind it.

As per the weather reports, the temperature at Dubai airport at the time of accident was 49 degrees Celsius (120 degrees Fahrenheit) and wind shear, a dangerous condition which can result in unexpected and random changes in wind direction, was also indicated on the runways of airport.
