The Indian cricketer Virat Kohli is known as the chase master in the cricket world because he has made his team win many matches while chasing with the help of his superb performances and in the match against New Zealand, he once again did what he does the best – chasing.
The match was played yesterday at HPCA stadium, Dharamshala and after winning the toss, India gave the chance to the Kiwis to bat first. With the help of brilliant knock by Rachin Ravindra (75 runs) and a superb century by Daryl Mitchell (130 runs), New Zealand gave a target of 274 to India for winning the match.
India got off to a good start as Rohit Sharma (46 runs) and Shubman Gill (26 runs) stitched a partnership of 71 runs for the first wicket but they both got out at small interval and Virat Kohli kept the scoreboard ticking with Shreyas Iyer. While Shreyas Iyer (33 runs), KL Rahul (27 runs) and Suryakumar Yadav (2 runs) got out, Virat kept his ground and ensured that his team remained in chase despite wickets falling at regular intervals.
Virat Kohli got out at the score of 269 runs when the Indian team needed 5 runs to win the match and he also needed 5 runs to complete his century as he tried to hit a maximum but got caught by Glenn Phillips on the bowling of Matt Henry. Virat played 104 delivers for his knock of 95 runs and he smashed 8 fours and 2 sixes in his innings.
The cricket fraternity and online users were once again left awestruck with the brilliance of Virat Kohli and here are some selected reactions:
Five out of five for #TeamIndia . An outstanding spell from @MdShami11 that ensured India had to chase only 274 when it could have been much more. And then what has become a habit for us to watch the chase master Virat Kohli being in his zone and finishing it with astonishingโฆ pic.twitter.com/bAzwCk1b7G

Gautam Gambhir said, "there is no better finisher than Virat Kohli. A finisher is not only those who bat at No.5 or No.7 – he is a chase master". (Star). pic.twitter.com/7bedL6eLoy

Virat Kohli, the myth, the legend, and the man.
It's another carbon copy performance by the greatest ODI chaser of them all, falling just short of ODI century no. 49. He gets to walk off alone to the full clamour of the stadium.

India chased the target with 4 wickets in hand and 12 balls remaining in their innings and Ravindra Jadeja remained unbeaten at the score of 39 runs.
Virat Kohli is certainly a great cricketer, what do you say?
