Late-night problems often come with panic, confusion and a lot of bad decisions. But for two friends in Pune, a strange situation at 3 am turned into an Internet sensation thanks to quick thinking, calm nerves and a grocery delivery app. What began as an ordinary night ended with laughter, relief and a story that social media users couldn’t stop talking about.
The incident happened when the two stepped out onto their balcony, only to realize moments later that the door had locked behind them. With their parents fast asleep inside the house, breaking in or shouting for help was not an option. There was no spare key within reach, no neighbour to wake up and no easy way back inside.
Instead of panicking, the duo paused and came up with a creative solution. They placed an order on Blinkit, not for an emergency tool but simply to get a delivery executive to their doorstep. The plan was simple but risky. Once the delivery agent arrived, they would explain the situation and guide him to the spare key kept outside the house.
The moment was captured in a video later shared on Instagram by Mihir Gahukar and it quickly went viral. In the clip, one of the friends calmly explains how they ended up locked in and how they decided to use a delivery order as their rescue call. Over the phone, they patiently guided the delivery executive, explaining where the spare key was kept and how to quietly unlock the main door without disturbing anyone inside.
What followed felt straight out of a comedy scene. The delivery agent managed to find the key, unlocked the door smoothly and walked into the house as instructed. He made his way toward the balcony where the stranded friends waited anxiously. As soon as he reached them, the tension broke and the friends burst into laughter, clearly relieved that their unusual plan had worked.

Social media reactions poured in almost instantly. Many users found the situation hilarious and praised the friends for staying calm under pressure. Others were amazed by the delivery agent’s professionalism and presence of mind. Some joked about how awkward it could have been if the parents had woken up mid-rescue, while others shared similar real-life experiences of being locked in unexpected ways. Several users even described delivery workers as everyday heroes who go far beyond their job descriptions.
As the video continued to circulate online, Mihir shared another clip showing what happened afterward. Wanting to express their gratitude, the friends tried to offer the chocolates and soft drinks they had ordered to the delivery executive. The man politely refused at first, explaining that he was simply doing his duty. After some insistence, he finally accepted the gesture, leaving with a smile that won even more hearts online.

The incident struck a chord because it showed how ordinary people handle odd situations with creativity and kindness. It also highlighted how modern services, meant for convenience, sometimes end up playing unexpected roles in people’s lives. What could have been a stressful night turned into a memorable story, all thanks to calm thinking, a helpful delivery partner and a little late-night humour.
