The passing of businessman Sunjay Kapur has left behind not just grief but a bitter rift within his family. His children from his marriage with actress Karisma Kapoor have accused his third wife Priya Sachdev of forging his will. At the same time, Sunjay’s sister Mandhira has alleged that their mother was manipulated into signing documents after his de*th without being told what she was agreeing to.
Amid the disputes, Mandhira has openly spoken in support of Karisma. In a recent interview, she revealed that her relationship with Priya Sachdev had soured but she continues to consider Karisma her closest friend. She affectionately referred to the actor as “Lolo” and described her as someone who has always been by her side.
Mandhira also spoke warmly about her niece and nephew Samaira and Kiaan, Karisma’s children with Sunjay. She said that she feels proud of the way Karisma has raised them, describing how her heart swells with pride when they share stories of their lives and achievements with her. According to Mandhira, their upbringing is a reflection of Karisma’s strength and dedication as a mother.
Her concerns, however, extend beyond personal bonds. In an earlier conversation, she shared disturbing details about what happened to their mother shortly after Sunjay’s de*th. Mandhira recalled how the elderly woman was locked in a room by members of the Sona Comstar board, where she was made to sign papers without being told their contents. Mandhira said that she was outside the door, helpless and confused, and later learned from her mother that she had signed documents while still in deep grief. Her mother admitted that she had no idea what she was signing and felt pressured to comply.
Since then, Mandhira has been searching for answers about those papers but claims that no clarity has been given to her or her family. She expressed anguish at seeing her mother left vulnerable at such a difficult time, insisting that everything that belonged to her has been taken away. For her, the fight is deeply personal because she was raised to believe that caring for their mother was a duty instilled in all of them.
The disagreements following Sunjay Kapur’s d*mise have now become a public family struggle, one that mixes grief, loyalty and accusations of betrayal, with Mandhira choosing to stand firmly beside Karisma and her children.
