Maggi Will Drown All Celebs- After Madhuri, This Time It’s Amitabh & Preity To Go To Court

May 31 proved to be a black day for Millennium Star Amitabh Bachchan and Nach Baliye Judge Preity Zinta as the two stars received a legal notice from the court due to promotion and endorsement of Nestle India’s well-known brand Maggi.

Although UP Food Safety and Drug Administration filed a case against Nestle India together with 5 others, there is an attorney who lodged an individual case against Bollywood stars who promoted 2-minutes noodles.

In the words of V K Pandey who is Food Safety Officer of Barabanki, “Following FSDA Commissioner P P Singh’s permission to file a case against Nestle India, a case has been filed in the court of ACJM (Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate) here.”

Speaking of the case, Pandey stated that it’s filed against Delhi-based Nestle India Limited, the firm’s Nestle Nagal Kalan Industrial Area unit (Himachal Pradesh’s Haroli), Easy Day store situated at Barabanki as well as parent firm Easy Day which is Delhi-based in addition to Shabab Alam & Mohan Gupta, their FMCG managers.

As we all know, MSG and lead was found more than the permissible limit in samples of the product, as per the reports of FSDA.

Samples were collected by FSDA from Barabanki’s Easy Day outlet that later went under test and as a result, quantum of lead was discovered to be 17 times higher than permitted amount, making Maggi harmful for health. Additionally, FSSAI was asked for investigating the issue by Union Consumer Affairs Ministry, whereas according to Ram Vilas Paswan, Union Minister, they may commence a class action suit regarding this issue taking into account the case filed with NCDRC. A local lawyer filed another case in CJM court against big celebrities who promote Maggi in view of the fact that it’s not good for health to have this instant food.

However, the organization did not make any comments on the matter. But in a conversation with media, this attorney confirmed the news of filing a case separately against the three stars because during advertisement, these celebs consider Maggi to be a good food for health. The case is registered under sections 109, 272, 273 & 420. To quote his words, “this wrong publicity amounts to malafide intentions and playing with the health of the kids and young people of the country”.

What do you think about this whole matter? Is this lawyer correct in his assessment and can dragging these celebs to the court for endorsement be considered just & correct? Share your views in the comments section!
