Mahatma Gandhi’s Statue Defaced; ‘ISIS Zindabad’ Along With Attack Warning Scribbled On It

It was on Monday in Jaipur, Rajasthan that Mahatma Gandhi’s statue in Dudu had been found defaced. No doubt, it was done by several anonymous miscreants but what’s noteworthy here is the warning of probable ISIS attacks on 26th January.  This warning gave rise to frightening situation but according to cop, they are making attempts for identifying people behind this act.

“‘ISIS zindabad’ was scribbled on it,” as per ANI.

As maintained by Sanjay Kumar, Additional SP of the area, the message had been scribbled on the statue’s back with paint and warned about destruction likely to take place on The Republic Day.

In the midst of terror suspects as well as national crackdown on terrorists, 94 sites linked to IS of Iraq and LevantS have been blocked by Mumbai ATS.

In the words of Vivek Phansalkar, ATS Chief, Maharashtra, “94 websites used to radicalise people online have been blocked. We are monitoring websites and social media sites, so that these are not mishandled. Any website used to propagate ISIS agenda is being blocked. We are trying to create an ATS website to connect with the people.”

In the meantime, 12 suspects who had been detained from throughout India due to suspected link with ISIS were remanded in NIA custody by a special court till February 5. These accused were Mohd Hussain Khan, Mubabiir Mushtaq Sheikh, Abdul Ahad, Mohd Obaidullah Khan, Suhail Ahmed, Mohd Alim, Asif Ali, Imran, Mohd Sharif, Mohd Afzal, Syed Mujahid and Njmul Huda.
