“Mahi Bhai Ka Koi Jawaab Nahi,” Praveen Kumar Says MS Dhoni Is The Best Skipper, Here’s Why

The former Indian skipper MS Dhoni is certainly one of the most successful skippers that the Indian team has ever had as he is the only skipper to win 2007 T20 World Cup, 2011 ODI World Cup and 2013 Champions Trophy.

MS Dhoni is considered as one of the smartest cricketers as he knows how to use his resources in an optimum manner and what has made him stand apart from other skippers is his ability to remain calm even in critical situations.

MS Dhoni is admired by not just his colleagues but his counterparts as well and recently, the former Indian pacer Praveen Kumar opens up on why he feels that there is no match to MS Dhoni.

The former Indian cricketer who represented Uttar Pradesh at domestic level gave an interview in which he spoke on various issues and when he was asked about the best skipper that India has got, he said that there is no match to Mahi bhai. Praveen Kumar further said that MSD knows how to use his players and when to use them, Dhoni used to set the field and ask the bowler to bowl.

Praveen Kumar further said that a good skipper is the one who sets the field as per his choice and then gives the ball to the bowler to bowl and it is on the bowler to understand what he should bowl. Praveen Kumar added that the bowler can make little bit of changes in the field setting because he has a better idea of how much the ball will swing after pitching at a particular spot.

The former cricketer also made some startling revelations as he said that the former IPL commissioner Lalit Modi threatened him that he will finish his (Praveen’s) career if he doesn’t play for Bangalore (RCB) in the IPL. Praveen Kumar said that he didn’t want to play for RCB as Bangalore was far from his place (Meerut, Uttar Pradesh) and he also didn’t like the food.

Praveen Kumar also said that the Pakistani players are liars and they do a lot of show-off but still he has some Pakistani cricketers as friends.

He made his international debut in the year 2007 and in his career which was short-lived due to injuries, he played 6 test matches (27 wickets), 68 ODIs (77 wickets) and 10 T20Is (8 wickets). He took retirement in 2018 after he went unsold in the IPL auctions but he still play in someT20 leagues which are for the retired cricketers.
