The decision of demonetization of Rs. 500 and Rs.1,000 old currency notes didn’t go well with the opposition parties and leaders but the leaders who most aggressively opposed this decision and demanded roll back of demonetization were New Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee. They not only organized rallies in protest but also gave three-day ultimatum to the government and warned of dire consequences if demonetization is not rolled back. However, PM Modi and his government are not even in the mood to take both of them seriously and the same goes with the public.
PM Modi has been getting support from the majority of public despite the problems which are being faced by them.
A Bharat Bandh was also called on November 28 but it didn’t really have any effect and now Mamata Banerjee has sworn that she will remove PM Modi from politics. Here is the tweet, “Today, I am taking pledge that either I’ll die or live but will remove PM @narendramodi from Indian politics: @MamataOfficial”
