In an extremely disgusting and shocking incident in Maharashtra, a newly-wed girl is called ‘not virgin’ by Nashik’s village caste panchayat after they were informed of her failing ‘virginity test’ by her husband. What’s more disgraceful is that the man is permitted for ending his marriage with the girl whom he wed hardly 48 hours ago.
Just one day post marriage, man was provided with a white bed sheet by the panchayat which instructed him for returning it shortly after his first night. When he didn’t find any blood stain on the bed sheet and showed the same to the panchayat, it permitted him for terminating his wedding.
As Times of India was told by Krishna Chandgude and Ranjana Gavande, social workers, the bride wished for getting recruited in police force and for the same, was doing physical tests preparation which include exercises like cycling, long jump, running etc.
On Thursday, they will have a meeting with the panchayat and if they don’t reach any “amicable solution”, FIR will be lodged.
There are many other ways through which hymen may break and it’s not always necessary that it breaks while making physical relationship with a guy. In fact, lots of exercises also result in the same and if a girl doesn’t get blood in the first night, it not necessarily means that she’s not a virgin or has been indulged in a relationship earlier too.
What’s more, a girl is virgin or not is determined by blood on the first night but what are the measures of determining whether a man is virgin or not?
