Have you ever heard of Magnet Hill? Well, it’s a little stretch of road positioned around 30km towards Kargil from Leh. It’s basically a “gravity hill” which gives the optical illusion as to downhill road is in fact the uphill one. Vehicles and objects seem rolling ‘uphill’, defying the gravity law; however, they actually roll downhill.
On this road, which apparently appears to go uphill, if you turn off engine of your vehicle and let it stand in neutral, the vehicle would begin to move slowly and might move on a speech of 20kmph itself.
