There is no denying the fact that the rate of crime against women is quite high in some states and Uttar Pradesh is one of them. There are many incidents of such crimes which are not even reported and in those cases which are reported, the judicial system takes so much time in giving the judgment that the victim feels as if coming to the court was a mistake.
These factors are increasing the anger of common man and he is slowly losing his hesitation in taking law in his hands.
Just recently, a person was killed by the crowd as he allegedly raped and killed a minor girl of 6 yrs. The incident took place on 21st June in Bheekamapur village of Aligarh district.
According to reports, the accused was from Badaun and he was employed at the snack shop of the girl’s father earlier. But nearly a month ago, he was sacked from the job and since then, he was nowhere seen in the village.
It is possible that he lured the girl and took her to the farm where he committed the horrific act of crime. When the girl was not seen for a long time, her parents started searching and they found her body in the farm. The accused was also present there, sitting beside the dead body. The villagers got angry and thrashed the accused badly before handing him over to the police.
Police admitted him to a hospital but he succumbed to the injuries after few hours. Rajesh Kumar Pandey, SSP Aligarh, said,
“The accused was nabbed by the locals. He was sitting near the body of the girl. He was drunk. He was thrashed by the people and later died at around 3 a.m.”
Police has filed a case in this connection and investigation is being carried out.
