The incidents of committing suicide during video calling are on the rise and one more student has now given her life while having a video call with a friend.
On Sunday, 24 years old B Haneesha Chowdary committed suicide by hanging herself in her hostel room at Kompally, Hyderabad. She hailed from Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh and was an MBA student at Sivasivani Institute of Management.
Haneesha hanged herself in the early morning and at that time, she was having video chat with her boyfriend Dakshit Patel. A police officer from Petbasheerabad Police Station said,
“We don’t have any confirmation that she committed suicide while the video call was on. However, she had spoken with her friend on video call before resorting to the extreme step. Her friend told us that the victim had said that she would hang herself. He also told us that he saw her hanging.”
Dakshit and Haneesha were in a relationship for quite some time now and they had an argument as Dakshit was not happy with Haneesha over her going in a wedding. The police officer said,
“A minor argument broke out between them after which she seems to have told him that she was going to end her life.”
Dakshit rushed to Haneesha’s hostel after he saw her hanging and took her to the hospital for treatment. However, her body has now been shifted to government owned Gandhi hospital, Secunderabad, where post-mortem will be conducted.
Haneesha’s parents have filed a case of suspicious death and the investigation is going on.
We request the youngsters not to lose hope and patience so quickly and think a hundred times before committing such acts as these things have worse effect on their families.
