A famous Hyderabadi restaurant got into trouble after a WhatsApp message went viral, stating that the eatery is using dog meat in its biryani. The culprit who started this fake message has been arrested by the cyber crime police and he happens to be an MBA student from old Hyderabad.
The disgusting accusation was made over Shah Ghouse hotel, which is very popular for its biryani. The defamation complaint was filed by the proprietor of the hotel, Mr. Mohammed Rabbani, with the Cyber crime police.
The accused, V Chandra Mohan (22), already accepted his crime and confessed that he got a message on WhatsApp about a hotel using dog meat; he changed it and wrote that Shah Ghouse was using dog meat.
Mr. Rabbani filed a complaint against unknown persons for spreading fake news against Shah Ghouse through WhatsApp messages. Shockingly, the message also alleged that the owner of Shah Ghouse had been taken into custody by the Hyderabadi police for using dog meat in the dishes. Not only this, it went on to the extent of saying that the hotel was also visited by the officials of GHMC and tests would be conducted on food samples.
In the words of Cyber Crime ACP, S Jayaram,
“Rabbani alleged that the false information was broadcasted by some news channels, resulting in damage of reputation and huge loss to the business at his restaurants in Shalibanda, Tolichowki and Gachibowli. Due to the loss in business, some employees of Shah Ghouse also lost their jobs.”
