After a Facebook post about A CHICAGO MC Donalds Employee showing an incredible act of kindness went viral, THIS employee has been honored with an award for his exceptional service.

On Sept. 16, Destiny Carreno couldn’t help but notice what was unfolding in front of her at the McDonald’s in Union Station as Kenny Soriano-Garcia worked behind the register.

As she explained in her Facebook post, which has now been shared 350,000 times, a disabled man struggled to explain to Soriano-Garcia that he needed help.

“The man politely tried to ask the cashier something and it took him a few tries before either of us could understand he was saying ‘Help me please,’” Carreno wrote. “Neither of us knew what help he needed, and the cashier suggested a few things before he figured out the gentleman needed help cutting and eating his meal.

“To be honest, I thought the cashier wasn’t going to help, especially during rush hour in downtown Chicago, but to my shock, he shut down his register and disappeared from view.”

Carreno then explains how Soriano-Garcia “came out from the kitchen, sat down and began cutting the man’s meal and helped him eat.”

She said it was “the kindest and most humble thing I had ever seen.”

McDonald’s Owner and Operator Rod Lubeznik told that the restaurant chain is “overwhelmed” by the positive response it’s seen as a result of Soriani-Garcia’s compassion on the job.

“We are very proud of Kenny, and overwhelmed by the positive response he has received for his compassion and kindness,” Lubeznik said. “It’s a true testament to who Kenny is, and a reminder to us all that one seemingly small act of kindness can touch the hearts of so many. We recognized Kenny during an award presentation yesterday.”
