Maruti 800 has always been something more than a car in India. Though its producers, MSIL, decided to stop the production of Maruti 800 after almost 20 long years, its legacy is surely supposed to go on forever. From a Top Businessman to a lowly middle-class citizen, the backseat of Maruti 800 has seen it all. There was a time when that same little roadster was even used for moto racing in India.
Ever since Maruti Suzuki stopped the production of Maruti 800, there have been people who have tried to modify their same old car to satisfy their own set of needs. Convertible cars are always highly acclaimed in the Indian market, being convertible gives an extra point of attraction to the car in Indian markets. However, a few modifications are just something which one can’t even think about.
One such miraculous modification has been achieved by a Delhi based automobile businessman who has managed to transform his Maruti 800 into a dashing convertible sports car. Jagjit Singh spent a precious three years of his life to get the project completed. The first impression of the car is enough to make people believe that it is of some Ferrari or Benz type of a car.
The designing has been simply incredible and Jagjit Singh deserves every bit of applause for pulling it off. Firstly, the front grille were removed to give the car a cleaner look and the standard headlights have been replaced with that of Fiat Palio. The major change comes however in the side view. Two of the four available doors have been removed and a stylish albeit faux air vent and creases that completely redefine the whole car. In the backend of the car, the standard tail lights have been replaced with the round ones of Chevrolet Spark. A bit more rubber and metal gets added here and there and the final touch is given with the attractive red colour.
Jagjit Singh aims at giving the present generation a chance to own a sports car without giving much load on their pockets. Jagjit Singh says that everyone aspires to own or atleast experience the luxury of a sports car but not everyone can afford it. Thus, to give this situation and ford little makeover, Jagjit Singh is giving it his all to deliver the luxury of a sports car at the cost of a normal four wheeler to anyone and everyone who aspires of the same.
