The Pakistan cricket team is officially out of the T20 World Cup 2024 and this is certainly their worst performance in the World Cups. For the same, Babar Azam-led team is getting slammed heavily by their own fans.
It won’t be wrong to say that the performance of the star studded Pakistani cricket team in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024 has been highly disappointing and pathetic. First, they lost the match against USA, a team which is playing in the T20 World Cup for the first time and then they lost their second league match against India. The match against India should have been won by Pakistan easily as they needed to chase only 120 for win and there was a time when they needed 47 runs in 46 balls with 7 wickets in hand but the irresponsible batting and poor shot selection of the senior batters resulted in Pakistan losing the match by 6 runs.
Pakistan needed to win their remaining matches and also needed USA to lose their remaining matches but the USA-Ireland match got washed out and the one point that USA got confirmed its position at the second spot with 5 points. Currently, Pakistan has 2 points and now even if it wins the match against Ireland, it will have 4 points which means that it won’t be able to get into the Super Eight.
There are many who are saying that Pakistan has got ousted because the match between USA and Ireland got abandoned but the former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer clarified things by making a tweet in which he wrote that Pakistan got ousted because it lost the match against USA.
Here is what Wasim Jaffer stated, “Contrary to popular belief, Pakistan didn’t get knocked out because USA v IRE got rained off. They got knocked out because Pakistan lost to USA 🙂 #USAvIRE #T20WorldCup”
