After Messi, Ronaldo Accused Of Tax Fraud Worth Rs 120 Crores! Will He Go To Jail?

After Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo is surrounded by legal troubles over tax issue. Today, a lawsuit has been filed against him by Spain’s prosecutor office. In the lawsuit, it is written that Ronaldo has defrauded the Spanish authorities of £14.7 million between the years 2011 to 2014. He is accused of four counts of tax fraud on the basis of reports gathered from Spain’s tax agency.

“That business structure is supposedly a shell company based in the Virgin Islands which the prosecutor labelled as a ‘screen in order to hide his total income from Spain’s Tax Office’.”

However, Ronaldo’s agency has something else to say on this matter. As per the agency, Ronaldo’s tax payments have been up to date. Not only this, the agency also said that Ronaldo’s tax declarations have been adjusted and he has paid extra £5.2 million in 2014.

Ronaldo is pretty relaxed; he is not at all worried about this because he believes that these legal problems can be sorted out with good decision. In an interview, Ronaldo said,

“I am very relaxed about it — the truth is I’m very, very relaxed. I know that these things can be resolved with the best decisions. So I am good. I can say from the depth of my heart, looking straight into the camera. When you do things well you can go to bed feeling relaxed. And I sleep well always, always. So I am good, and only thinking about the Champions League final.”
