The Aussies won the toss and put up a huge total of 487 runs in their first innings but the visitors never looked comfortable as they got bundled out for 271 runs. The Aussies declared their second innings at 233/5 and gave a target of 450 runs to the Pakistani cricket team for winning the match but the Pakistani batters put up a disastrous show as the whole team wasn’t even able to touch the three digit mark. The Pakistani cricket team got out for 89 runs and Australia won the match by 360 runs which is certainly a big margin. The test match ended within four days which clearly showed the Australian team’s superiority over Pakistan.

During this test match, the Aussie spinner Nathan Lyon completed 500 wickets in his test career and he is the third Australian bowler to cross the 500-wicket mark after Shane Warne and Glenn McGrath.

After Australia’s dominant victory over Pakistan, the former England cricketer Michael Vaughan took to X (formerly Twitter) and shared his opinion regarding the match. He not only praised the Aussies but he also made a statement as per which only team India has the required tools to compete with the Australian team.

Michael Vaughan tweeted, “Aussies are so clinical .. they have everything covered for all conditions .. Well done to @NathLyon421 on 500 Test wickets .. Incredible achievement .. Only @BCCI have the tools to compete here in Oz at this stage.. #AUSvsPAK”

The second test match between Australia and Pakistan will be played from 26 December at Melbourne Cricket Ground and the Pakistani team will have enough time to sit, analyse and improve their performances.

As far as the Indian side is concerned, they are currently on the tour to South Africa where the 3-match T20I series ended in a tie (1-1) and India has registered a big win in the first ODI of the 3-match series. India and South Africa will also play 2-match test series and it won’t be easy for the Indian squad to defeat the Proteas in their home.
