Michael Vaughan Tries To Target Wasim Jaffer After India’s 2-1 Defeat, Gets A Befitting Reply

The Indian cricket team lost the third and the final test match of the 3-match test series against South Africa which was played in Cape Town and with it, India also lost the series by 2-1. South Africa won the test match by 7 wickets and the South African cricketer Keegan Petersen was adjudged as the Player of the Match as well as the Player of the Series.

Though the Indian squad made a great start to the series by winning the first test match, the Proteas made a strong comeback by attaining victory in both the remaining test matches and once again team India missed the chance of scripting history of winning the first test series in South Africa.

India’s defeat gave a chance to the former England cricketer Michael Vaughan to take a dig at the former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer as they both never miss an opportunity to make fun of each other on the micro-blogging site Twitter.

Michael Vaughan wrote, “Evening @WasimJaffer14 !! Just checking you are ok” with a laughing emoji.

In response, Wasim Jaffer tweeted, “Haha all good Michael, don’t forget we are still leading you 2-1”

Wasim Jaffer was referring to the 5-match test series which was played between India and England last year when the former went on the England tour. India was leading by 2-1 after the fourth test match but the fifth test match was postponed due to the emergence of COVID-19 positive cases in the Indian camp and now the fifth test match will be played in Birmingham starting July 1, 2022.

This is not the first time that Michael Vaughan and Wasim Jaffer have got involved in a friendly banter and we are pretty sure that it will continue in the future as well because Michael Vaughan is quite critical of the Indian cricket team and Jaffer likes to give him back with style.

India and South Africa will now play a 3-match ODI series starting January 19 and hopefully the Indian side will perform better in the shorter format. What do you think?
