Mid-Air Scare. Samsung Phone Caught Fire On Jet Airways Flight From Delhi To Indore

Mobile phones catching fire is no less than a NIGHTMARE for us, isn’t it? Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is already banned on flights, but now, another model has created fear in our minds.

A passenger’s Samsung J7 phone caught fire mid-air in a Delhi- Indore Jet Airways flight and risked lives of around 120 people. Yes, a resident of Delhi Arpita Dhal had 3 phones in her handbag and suddenly, she noticed some smoke coming out from the bag. As soon as she came to know that her Samsung J7 caught fire, she sought help of the crew for extinguishing fire.

The worst thing was that the fire extinguishers on that flight didn’t work; what if it would have cost the lives of 120 people? Thankfully, the crew put that phone in water and the passengers landed safely. However, a big question has been raised on fire safety in flights.

Arpita’s husband said,

“It was a mid-air panic. We prayed to god. I will complain against Jet Airways after I return home. This is a question of safety of passengers in flights. If there is a major fire or blast what will they do when their fire extinguishers don’t work like this.”

As of now, Samsung hasn’t responded to this incident; on the other hand, a spokesperson of Jet Airways said that the matter has been resolved.

The spokesperson added,

“It was observed on board Jet Airways’ flight 9W 791 Delhi-Indore that smoke was emitting from a guest hand bag. Jet Airways crew immediately took charge of the situation, as also all necessary steps as precautionary measure, and as per the prescribed guidelines.”

Currently, the device is being investigated. Let’s see what happens.
