Even during intense international schedules, Virat Kohli never misses a chance to connect with his fans. Ahead of the first ODI against New Zealand in Vadodara, the Indian batting star shared a light-hearted moment that has now taken over social media.

During a training session at the venue, Virat Kohli paused his practice to meet a group of young fans who had gathered to catch a glimpse of him. He signed autographs, posed for pictures and interacted warmly with the children. Among them, one young boy immediately caught everyone’s attention for looking strikingly similar to Kohli from his younger days. The resemblance clearly amused Virat Kohli, who broke into a broad smile as he stood beside the child.
Photos and videos from the session quickly made their way online, with fans on X sharing the moment widely. Many users began calling the boy “mini Kohli”, while others compared him to old childhood photos of the Indian batter, adding a nostalgic touch to the viral buzz.

The cheerful moment comes at a time when Virat Kohli appears relaxed and focused as India prepare for a busy stretch of international cricket. He arrived in Vadodara earlier this week and received a warm welcome from fans at the airport. Soon after, he joined the rest of the squad for training as the city gets ready to host a men’s ODI after a long gap.

India and New Zealand will face off in a three-match ODI series, beginning in Vadodara, followed by matches in Rajkot on January 14 and Indore on January 18. After the ODIs, both the teams will compete in a five-match T20I series.
Virat Kohli will be keen to carry his good form into the series against the Black Caps. In December, he returned to domestic cricket by playing two Vijay Hazare Trophy matches, marking his first appearance in the tournament in 16 years. He made an immediate impact, scoring a brilliant 131 in one game and following it up with a composed 77 in the next, underlining his readiness for the challenges ahead.
