In a village of Uttar Pradesh known as Balrampur located near Kanpur, a baby girl was born and unfortunately she had a birth effect. It is really sad that she is no more. Talking of defect, she had a dark face, however her body was quite fair and for the same, people called her Goddess Kali. They started worshipping the baby girl thinking of her as an incarnation of Maa Kali, a Hindu Goddess. Soon they began to touch her feet, offer garlands and money and perform puja.

As reported by News 18, she could not live for more than half an hour; nevertheless, a number of villagers wished for seeing ‘miracle baby’ so she couldn’t be buried at once. Prior to burying her, family of the baby girl performed bhajan kirtan songs.

Despite the fact that Hindus believe in cremation, children are buried and the baby’s maternal grandparents expressed their wish of funeral being to be done in their village according to customs.

In the past also, we have seen instances where people worship babies with birth defects considering them Gods and Goddesses. Such kids don’t live for long and die shortly after their birth.
