He said that he had to let go of many things he had learned from directing experienced actors over the years and instead connect with Ahaan and Aneet on their level. He explained that the chemistry people loved on screen came naturally from the two actors themselves after they did workshops and spent time understanding their roles.
Interestingly, the director and his team decided to keep both debut actors away from joint public appearances before the film’s release. He said that since both the leads were new, they wanted the audience to focus on the story and emotions of the film, not just the faces promoting it. They believed that the content should speak for itself and felt that this was not a planned marketing trick but simply a return to how newcomer-driven films used to be launched.
Saiyaara has not only succeeded but become a blockbuster in 2025, performing far beyond expectations. The film continued to do well even when it was released alongside major projects like Anupam Kher’s Tanvi: The Great, Sonakshi Sinha’s Nikita Roy, Mahavatar Narsimha, Ajay Devgn’s Son of Sardaar 2, and Dhadak 2 starring Triptii Dimri and Siddhant Chaturvedi.
