There is no doubt that Indians are too hesitant if they are asked to talk about sexuality and homosexuality is a bigger taboo, in fact it is a disease in the opinion of majority of Indians. The homosexuals in India are fighting for their rights but a recent revelation of an incident taken place in Bengaluru has sent shocking signals in this community.
As per a report, a homosexual boy was raped by his mother in order to get rid of his disease of homosexuality. This practice is called Corrective rape, in which a relative of opposite gender is asked to rape the homosexual person to change his/her physical likings, in most of the cases cousins are asked to help in this horrific crime.
The Dailymail has received a report according to which the group of LGBT Collective has got information about 15 cases of Corrective Rape in last five years, the group also confirms that in Telangana, the families are asking their relatives to rape their child to cure the disease.
As per Dailymail, “the parents will arrange the rape and handpick a relative – usually a cousin – to carry out the heinous act.”
Another disgusting incident came into light in which a cousin brother raped his lesbian sister as a treatment under corrective rape.
Gay physical relationship is legally banned as per the decision of Supreme Court of India since 2013 and many petitions have been given to decriminalize same gender intercourse.
