Speculation has been swirling around one of Telugu cinema’s biggest upcoming projects and Mrunal Thakur has now added fuel to the excitement. The actress has finally reacted to the ongoing chatter linking her to AA22xA6, Allu Arjun’s much-anticipated collaboration with director Atlee, and her response has only deepened the mystery.
For weeks, social media has been buzzing with claims that Mrunal Thakur has been signed for an important role in the film and has already begun shooting. When asked about these reports during a promotional interview, Mrunal chose humour over confirmation. She reacted with playful disbelief, saying she would love for it to happen and that it would be worth celebrating if it does. Her light-hearted response neither confirmed nor denied the rumours but it certainly kept fans guessing.
AA22xA6, which marks the first collaboration between Allu Arjun and Atlee, continues to grow in scale and ambition. Though the makers have not made any official announcements beyond initial reveals, industry chatter suggests the film could be split into two parts. This possibility is reportedly being explored due to the massive scope of the project, the scale of its storytelling and the technical demands involved.
Sources claim that nearly 60 percent of the film has already been shot, with the team currently filming a large underwater action sequence. Given the complexity of such scenes and the heavy post-production work expected, the idea of expanding the story across two films is said to be under consideration.
Adding to the intrigue, reports suggest that Allu Arjun could be seen in multiple roles, possibly even playing four different characters. If true, this would mark a first in his career and further explain the film’s ambitious structure.
So far, Deepika Padukone has been officially confirmed as one of the leads. The makers previously released a promo featuring her, establishing her importance in the narrative. Rashmika Mandanna and Mrunal Thakur are widely rumoured to be part of the ensemble cast, though their involvement has not yet been officially announced.
On the work front, Allu Arjun was last seen in Pushpa 2: The Rule, directed by Sukumar. The film went on to become one of the highest grossing Indian movies of all time, continuing the story of Pushpa Raj’s rise in the sandalwood smuggling world, with Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil returning to their roles. Apart from AA22xA6, there is also talk of a possible collaboration between Allu Arjun and Lokesh Kanagaraj, although nothing has been confirmed yet.
Mrunal Thakur, meanwhile, has a busy slate ahead. She will next be seen in Do Deewane Seher Mein alongside Siddhant Chaturvedi, which is set to release on February 13, 2026. She is also part of Dacoit, co-starring Adivi Sesh. The makers recently announced a change in the film’s release date, shifting it from March 19 to April 10. This move ensures that Dacoit will not clash at the box office with Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar 2 or Yash’s Toxic: A Fairytale For Grown-Ups. The team explained that the decision was made out of respect for fellow filmmakers and confidence in their own film, allowing each project its own space with audiences.
Until official confirmations arrive, AA22xA6 remains one of the most talked-about projects, with Mrunal Thakur’s playful response keeping the curiosity alive.
