The IPL 2024 can be the last season of MS Dhoni as a player and his fans want to see him bat as much as possible but if Dhoni’s presence on the cricket pitch is a matter of joy for his fans, it is no less than a nightmare for the opposition bowlers.
MS Dhoni is at his vintage best and in this season, he has played aggressive cameos and has made a big impact with the bat. In the match against Mumbai Indians, MS Dhoni played only 4 balls and remained not out at the score of 20 runs and in the end, these runs made a big difference as CSK won the match by 20 runs. In that match, Dhoni smashed a hat-trick of sixes on the bowling of the MI skipper Hardik Pandya and left everyone awestruck with his hard-hitting skills.
In yesterday’s match which Chennai Super Kings played against Lucknow Super Giants, MSD once again targeted the bowlers and played a blistering knock of 28 runs not out for which he played only 9 balls and his innings included 3 fours and 2 sixes. This innings may have helped his team in putting up a competitive total of 176/6 but CSK lost the match by 8 wickets as LSG put up a great show on their home ground, Ekana Sports City, Lucknow.
The good thing is that MSD not only brought smiles on the faces of his fans with power-hitting but he also achieved the feat of completing 5000 runs in the IPL as a wicketkeeper.
Another Milestone for MSD 🫡

As far as the match is concerned, the toss was won by LSG and they put CSK to bat first. CSK started bad as Rachin Ravindra got out for a golden duck; Ajinkya Rahane (36 runs, 24 balls, 5 fours & 1 six) and skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad (17 runs, 13 balls, 1 four) tried to stabilize the innings but they also got out soon.
Shivam Dube (3 runs) and Sameer Rizvi (1 run) also failed in making an impact with the bat but the partnership between Ravindra Jadeja (57 runs not out, 40 balls, 5 fours & 1 six) and Moeen Ali (30 runs, 20 balls, 3 sixes) ensured that CSK had respectable score on the board with MSD finishing in style.
LSG had a great start as Quinton de Kock (54 runs, 43 balls, 5 fours & 1 six) and skipper KL Rahul (82 runs, 53 balls, 9 fours & 3 sixes) put up a partnership of 134 runs for the first wicket. LSG successfully chased the target in 19 overs with 8 wickets in hand and registered their fourth win in the tournament.
CSK has also won 4 matches out of 7 matches played by them but they are on the third position because of their better run rate.
Congratulations to MS Dhoni on one more achievement!
