“M.S Dhoni: The Untold Story”, the Sushant Singh Starrer and “Sarbjit”, the Aishwarya Rai starrer have achieved something very great. Yes, both the films have got an entry in the long list of Oscars.

Out of 336 feature films, these 2 movies have also been very lucky enough. The list of films that are eligible for Oscars was released yesterday by Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

For making it to the list there are certain conditions; the feature films must have played for at least 7 days consecutively between 1st of January to 31st of December in Los Angeles County’s commercial theater.

Secondly, the movies must be exhibited theatrically either on a 70mm film or on a 35mm film in a qualifying digital format.

The third requirement is that the movie should have a run time of over 40 minutes. Along with these films even “Queen of Katwe”, a Mira Nair directorial has entered the list.

Other inclusions are “Moonlight”, “Arrival”, “Silence”, “Manchester by the Sea”, “Hackshaw Ridge”, “Deadpool”, “Captain America: Civil War”, “Suicide Squad” and “X Men: Apocalypse”.
