Hitman has led MI for over a decade, starting from the IPL 2013 till the IPL 2023 and under his leadership, MI became the most successful team of the IPL with 5 titles win. However, later on, CSK managed to equal their title wins but still nobody can deny the fact that Rohit Sharma has contributed immensely in the development of MI as a team.
Hardik Pandya’s appointment as the MI skipper has evoked mixed reactions from the MI fans as some have accepted the change but there are many who are not happy and they are slamming the MI management for treating Rohit Sharma in this manner. However, the fans of MS Dhoni are a little happy as their favourite cricketer is leading Chennai Super Kings from 2008 and the players who succeeded him as skippers in the national team have lost the captaincy of their IPL teams.
Earlier, Virat Kohli gave up captaincy of Royal Challengers Bangalore and now Rohit Sharma has been replaced by Hardik Pandya but MS Dhoni continues to lead CSK and the CSK fans are going gaga over his longevity.

India is a cricket crazy nation and this incident has proved one thing that in regard to the IPL, for the Indian cricket fans, their favourite cricketer is more important than the team.
The MI team management would not have got slammed so much if Rohit Sharma had given up his captaincy on his own and declared Hardik Pandya as the new skipper.
