Last year, BCCI hired Rahul Dravid as the coach of ‘Under-19’ and ‘A’ team. In terms of hiring personnel, Rahul as a junior coach, was among the pricier expenditures of BCCI. As per the payment details that were released on the official website for April 2016, BCCI hired Rahul Dravid for a fees of around Rs 2.62 crores, the 50% of which (1.3 crores) was paid to him on the 2nd April.

However, it seems that the money is well spent considering Dravid’s significant impact on both India A as well as U-19 teams. It was under the tutelage of Dravid that U-19 team was successful in entering the Junior World Cup final in Dhaka before losing to West Indies. Rishabh Pant was 1 of the youngsters who had played under Dravid in Bangladesh and now has secured a mark at the IPL.
BCCI has some other high payouts as well!
Other payouts include fees to contracted commentators Laxman Sivaramakrishnan and Sunil Gavaskar. Gavaskar was paid around 90 lakhs as commentary fees between Jan-March, while Sivaramakrishnan was paid 26 lakhs. BCCI also pays advance money to state associations to conduct several zonal camps.
Talking about foreign payments, 98.6 lakh was paid to Spider Cam GMBH, for using unique equipment during IPL. An insurance premium of 2.5 crore is paid to National Insurance in case of event cancellations that arise due to ‘act of terrorism’.
