Mumbai Police Tries To Troll Sonam Kapoor And Dulquer Salmaan, Gets Trolled Instead

The onus is on every citizen to ensure that safety measures are followed on the road. And the celebs are not exempt from it.

Recently, Sonam Kapoor shared a video on her Twitter account of herself and Dulquer Salmaan sitting in a car while the latter is seen watching a video on his phone. The car seems to be moving and Sonam is heard calling Dulquer a weirdo in the video.

Mumbai Police tried to troll the two, without verifying the facts and posted on Twitter calling Dulquer a weirdo indeed for watching videos while driving.

However, they should probably have verified the case beforehand, because Sonam and Dulquer were quick to point out the mistake, thus trolling Mumbai Police instead.

Apparently, Sonam and Dulquer were being dragged by a loader truck. In other words, Dulquer was not really breaking any traffic rules. Sonam responded saying,

We weren’t driving we were rigged on a truck.. but I’m glad you guys are concerned.. I hope and I know you show the same interest in regular folk as well! Thanks for taking care! #Reelvsreal @dulQuer https://t.co/JD1NvcqGrU

Even Dulquer found it quite offensive and wrote,

@MumbaiPolice The car was rigged to a low loader truck which was also the camera rig. I couldn't steer or drive the car even if I wanted to. Also this particular car cannot steer itself. pic.twitter.com/lmJ2Ur6CQg

He even gave proof of his statement because the video clearly shows the loader truck their vehicle was rigged to. He responded to the tweets as well.

He said,

Would appreciate it if you had checked some facts before tweeting this. In fact @MumbaiPolice helped us with permissions and traffic management during the shoot and were present the whole time. In my next tweet attaching the video I was shooting. #notawierdo https://t.co/WnKSnSDmjZ

Mumbai Police immediately responded,

We appreciate that you weren’t indulging in any irresponsible violation. A good example for all your fans @dulQuer https://t.co/7nmjHYZGeu

But there’s no denying that Mumbai Police got schooled! They also added:

For us, No Mumbaikar is ‘regular’ they are all ‘special’! And we are equally concerned about them all. Glad to know your safety wasn’t ‘rigged’. @sonamakapoor https://t.co/PyYbB23OZs

Sonam had the last word:

Thanks for realising your mistake @MumbaiPolice ! That’s extremely gracious! ❤️❤️❤️ https://t.co/ZJldMzBQ8A

— Sonam K Ahuja (@sonamakapoor) December 14, 2018

But fans seem divided in their opinion. Some have claimed that Sonam was wrong in posting such a misleading video:

Kubra Sait came out in support of Mumbai Police and posted,

I like the people / person behind the sarcasm and the wit of the @MumbaiPolice twitter handle. Thank You for the safety.

So, what’s your opinion on this?
