The veteran actress Mumtaz is certainly one of the most loved actresses of all times. In her glorious career of 30 years, she worked with almost all the big actors of her time and her pairing with Rajesh Khanna was loved a lot by the audiences.
Recently, the actress gave an interview in which she talked about her experience of working with Rajesh Khanna and her alleged rivalry with Sharmila Tagore.
Earlier, Mumtaz had said in an interview that they both can’t be friends and they can’t hang out together as well but in this interview she made it clear that they don’t have any bad blood between them.
During the interview, Mumtaz said that she respects Sharmila a lot, adding that Sharmila is far more educated and sophisticated than her. Mumtaz said that she started working from the early age of 8 years because of which she learned everything while working and she never had time to meet or interact with Sharmila or any other actress.
Mumtaz further said that she worked in more movies with Kaka (Rajesh Khanna) than Sharmila Tagore. She added that with the God’s grace, not a single of her with Rajesh Khanna flopped but Sharmila had flops with Rajesh Khanna.
Mumtaz also said that Rajesh Khanna worked with both the actresses but he was possessive about her and he also never encouraged the rivalry between the actresses. As per Mumtaz, Rajesh Khanna used to work with other actresses but he used to get upset when she used to work with other heroes such as Dharmendra and Dev Anand. The actress stated that Rajesh Khanna used to feel as if he owns her but it is fine because it meant he cared about her.
The 77 years old actress also talked about working with Dilip Kumar and Saira Banu and said that it was really a pleasure to work with them as they used to take care of her a lot. She added that she would never forget the kindness of Prithviraj Kapoor, Shashi Kapoor, Sunil Dutt, Mehmood, etc.
